Press Release - 08 Mar
2006
BBEG has recently
written to Steve Lumb, Head of Planning, Boston Borough Council
Dear Mr Lumb
LINCOLNSHIRE
COUNTY COUNCIL COMMENTING ON
BOSTON BOROUGH COUNCIL PLANNING APPLICATIONS
THAT AFFECT HIGHWAYS
I write further to my questions to Cllr Joyce
Dobson this week at the Full Council Meeting.
Please could you answer the following question for me with regards
to these proposed developments in Boston?
1. Tattershall Road;
2. Cuckoo Land Project;
3. York Street;
4. Proposed Stadium on Broadsides.
Within the traffic modelling being done, I understand that these
developments are being considered on an individual basis.
When Lincolnshire County Council Highways are asked to comment,
they do so on each one individually, do they not?
Taken altogether, they could make a huge difference to the traffic
modelling being done. Surely Lincolnshire County Council should
be asked to look at these major developments as a whole, on
a match day?
I look forward to receiving your reply.
Yours sincerely

Observations of a Coach Driver
Ted Brooks states, "Lincolnshire is
the worst county that I drive in and I have lived there
all my life ... There is very little chance to overtake
safely. Even some existing wider roads are being made
single file by planting concrete kerbs and bollards
in the middle of the road. Is that safer?"

"What Lincoln wants, Lincoln gets. What Boston needs, Lincoln forgets."
